Poor Chad Gable. After a hard-fought battle and betrayal by his own team at Clash at the Castle, the guy just can’t catch a break. He was set to bounce back in a Money in the Bank (MITB) qualifier match on “Raw” next Monday. But, in a turn of events that’s more brutal than a soap opera twist, Gable was sidelined following a vicious attack by the debuting Wyatt Sicks on “Raw” this past Monday. And when we say vicious, we mean it—some even said he looked like he’d been shot in the head. A tad dramatic, but this is wrestling, after all!

As you’d expect, recovering from a faux gunshot-like attack takes a bit more than a week. So, on the June 20 episode of “WWE Main Event,” Gable’s dreams of climbing the ladder (literally) were dashed. The new graphic for the MITB qualifier showed Ilja Dragunov stepping in to replace Gable. Now, Dragunov will face off against bruisers Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman for a chance to compete in Money in the Bank this July in Toronto.

Wyatt Sicks didn’t just stop at Gable, though. The group made their chaotic debut by laying waste to numerous WWE superstars and backstage personnel. It was like a WWE version of a natural disaster. However, Gable is the only one whose immediate wrestling plans have been disrupted, probably because his post-attack performance was so Oscar-worthy.

But hey, it’s not all doom and gloom for Gable. Rumor has it that despite all these setbacks, he’s still part of WWE’s long-term plans. After weeks of speculation about his potential departure, multiple reports have confirmed that Gable has decided to stick around WWE for a few more years. So, keep those tissues handy for the redemption arc that’s surely coming.
