As the saying goes, “No pain, no gain,” and TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace learned that the hard way at NXT Battleground last night. In her fiery clash with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Grace walked away with a nasty reminder that wrestling is not for the faint-hearted.

Shortly after her intense showdown with Perez, Grace took to social media platform X to share a rather graphic souvenir from her match. A photo revealed that a piece of her earlobe had gone AWOL, courtesy of a ripped-off ear piercing. Grace somberly announced her retirement from wearing ear piercings during matches, despite having done so safely throughout her career until this unfortunate incident.

The incident, a freak accident according to fans, happened when Grace’s ear got snagged on Perez’s gear. Like a true warrior, Grace shrugged off the pain and continued the bout. However, her efforts weren’t enough to overcome Perez, who sealed her victory with the Pop Rox to retain her championship. The match had everything from high-flying moves to surprise cameos, including Tatum Paxley trying to swipe the NXT Women’s Title and Ash by Elegance (formerly known as Dana Brooke) engaging in a tug of war over the belt.

Grace’s loss leaves her NXT future hanging in the balance. Nonetheless, both she and NXT executives seem keen on seeing more cross-promotional appearances. Besides Grace and Ash, the Battleground event saw several TNA stars backstage, including Knockouts legend Gail Kim and Grace’s husband, Jonathan Gresham.

Stay tuned, wrestling fans. This cross-brand collaboration is just getting started, and who knows what’s next? One thing’s for sure – it’s going to be as unpredictable as a cat on a hot tin roof!

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
