Juice Robinson is back in the wrestling ring after a long hiatus due to a serious back injury, and he’s already snagged some gold in All Elite Wrestling… well, kind of.

In a plot twist that would make a soap opera jealous, The Bang Bang Gang—featuring Jay White and The Gunns—nabbed the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships on January 17’s “AEW Dynamite” from Brian Cage and The Gates of Agony. Not content with just one set of titles, they then unified those with the AEW World Trios Championships, snatching them from Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed at AEW Dynasty on April 21. Robinson lent a helping hand to White and The Gunns in retaining their titles over Death Triangle at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26. Then, after triumphing in his comeback match on the June 7 edition of “AEW Rampage,” Jay White had a peculiar proclamation for The Bang Bang Gang’s ‘Stray Bullet.’

“Right here, right now, I, ‘Switchblade’ Jay White, am officially announcing, and officially anointing, and officially including you ‘Mr. Stray Bullet,’ ‘Rock hard’ Juice Robinson, as one, officially, as one quarter of the AEW Unified World Trios Champions.” Excalibur, the commentator, immediately took a calculator to the situation and pointed out that the math was more twisted than a pretzel, wondering aloud how the group planned to split nine belts four ways. Robinson and The Gunns, unbothered by numerical dilemmas, declared they were all in favor of the decision.

This now means The Bang Bang Gang will invoke “The Freebird Rule,” a tradition from The Fabulous Freebirds in the 1980s, where all four men will be recognized as champions, allowing any trio combination from the group to defend the titles. This rule has been previously embraced by factions like The New Day and The Undisputed Era in WWE, 3 Count in WCW, and Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling, of which The Bang Bang Gang is a splinter group.
