Folks, the main event of Wednesday’s “AEW Dynamite” was hotter than a summer sidewalk, featuring some of the best wrestling talent from across the globe. This wasn’t your typical Casino Gauntlet; this was the granddaddy of all gauntlets, the one that leaves you wondering if you just saw a wrestling match or a high-stakes poker game with more flips. And guess who came out on top? None other than AEW International Champion, the British sensation, Will Ospreay.

Wrestlers from Around the World? More Like Wrestlers from Another Planet!

The competitors were like a wrestling United Nations, with CMLL’s Místico and Hechicero, and NJPW’s Shota Umino and Lio Rush bringing international flair to the AEW ring. It was like watching the Olympics but with more body slams and fewer synchronized dives.

But let’s talk about the man of the hour, Mr. Ospreay. Entering fourth out of nine, he was like that sneaky player at the poker table who keeps his cards close to his chest until he drops the royal flush. The match was a whirlwind of athleticism and drama, but when the dust settled, Ospreay emerged as the last man standing, having taken down Orange Cassidy with his patented Hidden Blade. And for the finishing touch, an Os-Cutter that had Cassidy seeing stars instead of pockets aces.

Staring Contest of the Century: Ospreay vs. Strickland

Just when you thought it was safe to blink, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and his hype man Prince Nana stormed the ring. The episode wrapped up with a silent stare-off between Ospreay and Strickland. It was like a scene from an old Western movie—two gunslingers ready for a showdown, but with more spandex and fewer tumbleweeds.

Setting the Stage for Forbidden Door

Ospreay’s victory was no fluke. This is the second time he’s won the Casino Gauntlet match in recent history. His first victory, just last month, set up a clash with the former AEW International Champion, Roderick Strong. Now, he’s got his sights set on Strickland, and folks, it’s going to be an epic showdown at the Forbidden Door event on June 30 in Long Island, New York.

As of now, the match is expected to be for the AEW World Championship without any extra stipulations, because honestly, when you’ve got Ospreay and Strickland in the ring, you don’t need any extra bells and whistles. It’s already going to be a show-stealer.
