In a move that had the wrestling world buzzing, this past week’s “AEW Dynamite” at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, wasn’t just about body slams and headlocks. It featured some VIPs lurking behind the scenes – none other than a few top executives from Warner Bros. Discovery.

According to the ever-watchful eyes of “PWInsider,” a handful of Warner Bros. Discovery big shots were spotted backstage, including the heavyweight champion of programming, Sam Linsky. Linsky, the Associate General Manager and Senior Vice President of Programming & Operations for TNT and TBS, has been a staunch supporter of AEW since its inception in 2019. The report hints that Linsky has even played peacemaker, trying to keep Cody Rhodes from leaving the promotion. Talk about dedication!

But Linsky wasn’t alone. The report suggests other WBD staffers were also in attendance, possibly to discuss the all-important media rights deals. AEW CEO Tony Khan, always the promoter, touched on these negotiations during the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, singing the praises of WBD and his eagerness to extend their partnership. It’s like a soap opera, but with more spandex and fewer plot holes.

Meanwhile, MJF, who made a splashy return at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, was notably absent from Wednesday’s “Dynamite.” Perhaps he was busy plotting his next big move, or maybe he just didn’t get the memo about the VIP party backstage.

The May 29 edition of “Dynamite” didn’t disappoint in the ring either. The main event was a high-stakes AEW World Championship Casino Gauntlet match. The crowd roared as AEW International Champion Will Ospreay emerged victorious, earning a shot at Swerve Strickland’s AEW World Championship. With Hollywood execs in the house and championship gold on the line, it was a night to remember!
