Hold onto your wrestling belts, folks, because the wrestling world might just see some forbidden doors swinging wide open! Last night, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made a surprise appearance on “WWE NXT,” throwing down the gauntlet to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT Battleground. While it’s too soon to predict the full scope of this potential WWE and TNA partnership, one TNA superstar is already pitching a dream match.

As “NXT” lit up screens last night, WWE star Cedric Alexander took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and cheekily asked if Grace’s appearance meant he could challenge for the TNA X-Division Championship. He tagged none other than Mustafa Ali, the reigning champion. In a playful yet intriguing response, Ali reminded Alexander of the time he was given a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, teasing a potential match to “return the favor.”

Ali and Alexander go way back to the 2016 WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament and the subsequent “205 Live” division. Their most memorable clash was at WrestleMania 34, where they battled in the finals of a tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion. Alexander triumphed, beginning a six-month reign with the title.

Since his WWE release last September, Ali has found success outside the WWE universe, while Alexander has faced an uphill battle for screen time in 2024. Despite teaming up with Ashante Adonis, Alexander’s TV appearances have been scarce, his most recent being a swift thirteen-second loss to Bronn Breakker on the April 26 episode of “SmackDown.”

The potential clash between Ali and Alexander not only promises a thrilling reunion but could also signify a groundbreaking cross-promotional partnership between WWE and TNA. Wrestling fans, brace yourselves for what could be a historic showdown!
