Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up! The man, the myth, the legend – MJF – is back in AEW, sporting fresh ink both on his skin and, reportedly, on paper. The wrestling world’s very own Houdini has pulled off yet another masterstroke, leaving fans and wrestlers alike scratching their heads.

According to the latest from Fightful Select, MJF inked a new deal with AEW back in 2022, right after his Vegas magic trick during the Double or Nothing weekend. You remember, the one where he almost ghosted the city, only to return and give a performance that was, let’s say, “divisive.” The specifics of the deal remain murky – whether it’s an extension or a brand-new contract is anyone’s guess. But one thing’s for sure: MJF is laughing all the way to the bank as AEW’s highest-paid talent.

And, folks, the plot thickens! MJF is brimming with creative ideas that sources describe as “out of left field.” In wrestling terms, that’s code for “hold onto your hats because anything can happen.”

Now, onto the injuries. MJF has been dodging shoulder surgery like he’s dodging autograph hounds. After he and Adam Cole were sidelined by injuries in late 2023, their highly anticipated clash was shelved. This left the door open for Samoa Joe to step in and dethrone MJF at AEW World’s End in December 2023. Since then, MJF was MIA – until his dramatic return at Double or Nothing, where he unveiled a tattoo dedicated to AEW and pledged to spread “hate” like it’s going out of style.

But wait, there’s more! In true MJF fashion, his return was shrouded in secrecy. Quite literally, he was wheeled into the MGM Grand Garden Arena under cover to keep his grand entrance a surprise. And surprise us he did.
